David Lisle Painted Kitchen in Bowdon – Finished in Shaded White with a Light Blue Island
I recently had the pleasure of hand-painting a beautiful David Lisle kitchen in the heart of Bowdon. This bespoke kitchen was finished in Farrow & Ball Shaded White on the main units, paired with a light blue for the island – a soft, classic contrast that really elevates the space.
As with all high-end kitchens I work on, preparation is key to achieving the perfect finish. I began by thoroughly degreasing all surfaces using a specialist cleaner to remove any grease. 
Once everything was fully cleaned and dry, I moved on to priming.
I used a top-quality adhesion primer that’s designed specifically for kitchens – ideal for surfaces that may have been previously painted or lacquered. This creates a solid foundation for the paint to adhere to and helps enhance the final colour depth.
With the priming complete, I applied two top coats, carefully brushing every surface for a smooth, refined finish. Between coats, I lightly sanded by hand to maintain a silky texture and to ensure each layer bonded perfectly. I take great pride in hand-painting each section with precision, especially on bespoke cabinetry like this where every detail matters.
The final result is a flawless finish that brings out the craftsmanship of the David Lisle design. The Shaded White offers a timeless warmth, while the light blue island adds a subtle statement that grounds the space beautifully.
