This project was painted in an oil based Eggshell finish.
The client was an oil based paint fan and knew the durability benefits of oil. He also wanted it matching perfectly to Lamp Room Grey.
I had to source out the best finish which was going to be a traditional oil eggshell finish.
I usually have my go to paints like Tikkurila, but as this was an oil based finish I had to source out a perfect colour match with the right sheen level. It was easy as I have had many extremely accurate colour matches made in the past by this specialist paint merchant – Holmans Paints. They supplied me with Manor Coatings Traditional Oil Eggshell and it was matched to perfection to the point of not being able to distinguish the difference.
My clients were very happy with this match. They did not want the other paint which provided the original colour, but they still wanted the colour.
So back to the Manor coatings Eggshell- not the easiest to apply for the untrained painter, however I have had experience with many oil based paints which can behave differently one to the other. I got the paint to flow out well but had to move quickly and gently enough to get that perfect finish.
I applied two coats over Tikkurila Otex High Adhesion Primer which was colour matched to the top coats too.
