My Client wanted to brighten up her furniture. She didn’t want to get rid of the existing furniture as it was exceptionally solid. Even the chairs were taught and had no wobble in them after more than ten years.
The table top and the other tops were to be painted in a dark oak colour while the rest of the furniture was to be painted in white. This would still make the space look brighter and add a nice contrast to the furniture .
I set to work on this furniture by first prepping all the surfaces by decreasing and rubbing down making sure it was thoroughly vacuumed and any remaining traces of dust taken away by a damp microfiber cloth.
The glass and the doors and knobs were taken off the get that super sharp professional look.
The furniture was then primed with two coats of white Otex High Adhesion Primer by Tikkurilla. This would ensure that the furniture was absolutely chip proof once the top coats were applied.
I then gave it three coats of Helmi 10 furniture paint by Tikkurila. This stuff is really tough and I also use it on my hand painted kitchens.
The tops and table were given three coats of Kiva 10 lacquer which is also very tough and durable.
My client was very pleased indeed with the quality of workmanship.
